The Firefly ACE Design Validation Services offering (F-ACE-DES) is designed to increase confidence in a Cisco Application Control Engine (ACE) design for Cisco customers and Channel Partners. This service offering includes analysis of an ACE-based solution design, review of a proposed ACE software configuration, and documentation of any design enhancements suggested by the Design Review.

What's included
Our standard ACE Design Validation service includes site preparation checklists, design analysis and documentation, and analysis of software configuration. All ACE functionality is supported by this service offering.

Service deliverables
Design Review
  • Review Customer application requirements.
  • Review Customer’s existing network diagram.
  • Review Customer’s Catalyst 6500 IOS levels to ensure proper support of the ACE module.
  • Review and analyze proposed ACE design, focusing on the following areas:
    • Virtual Contexts
    • Layer 4-7 load balancing
    • Layer 7 application inspection
    • Session Persistence
    • SSL termination
    • Application Firewall
 Design Validation
  • Identify and document any recommended design changes.
  • Identify and document any recommended configuration changes.
  • Identify and document any differences between the proposed design and currently accepted best practices.
  • Conduct in a verbal review of the design validation and recommendations.
